KRAKÓW 2010 in brief

16 - 24 August 2010; 2-3-day-long hospitality with a Polish Scout/Guide group will be available before or after the camp according to your mutual agreement; ZHP groups are strongly encouraged to offer such
hospitality to their partners from other countries.

The campsite is situated in a big Blonia Park in the centre of Kraków, a beautiful and historic city, former royal capital of Poland.

Who can participate

Scouts, Guides aged 11-16 as well as Rovers and Rangers aged 16+, accompanied by Leaders. The smallest camp unit is a patrol consisting of 9 participants and 1 adult Leader. Four patrols make a troop. Every group of international guests will be camping together with a Scout/Guide group from Poland. If you do not have a partner group yet, we will find one for you. Your patrols will join Polish patrols and form 40-people troops. Patrols can be mixed of boys and girls if you wish, but they should have enough tents to accommodate the boys and girls separately. To help us with the organisation of the camplife and activities please make sure that you register only patrols with exactly 9+1 members. 10 000 participants from Poland and other countries are expected to gather at KRAKÓW 2010. They will live in 17 subcamps (“nests”), each counting 500-1000 campers.

Jamboree programme

The aim of the camp is to celebrate the centenary of Scouting and Guiding in Poland, look at our successes, sum up our programmes, and point out further directions of work. In the morning
patrols will have an opportunity to attend activities in six programme areas such as Green Game; Patriotism & Tradition; Together for Good Health; Our Land; Reaching our Summits; and Friendship Circle. Detailed
programmes of each area will be soon available at the Jamboree website. In the afternoon they will have other attractions – in the subcamps, at Plazza, around little and big stages and cafés. Camp ceremonies will
gather all participants at Opening (16th August), Closing (24th August), Ecumenical Prayer for Peace (21st August), and Kraków Day, including Grunwald Fair and International Fair at the Kraków Main Square. The
International Fair will be a good opportunity for all international guests to present to other participants their countries and associations. We warmly invite you to be there with us!

Patrols are requested to register before 31st March 2010. The registration form is attached here and will be also available at the Jamboree website. Lists of participants will be required by 31st May 2010.
